Shelly Peterson Photography

Award winning photographer, Shelly Peterson specializes in newborn, baby, maternity, and family photography in the Columbia Gorge Area. Her images are a sophisticated combination of both modern and vintage elements creating timeless pieces of art.

She is the recipient of six AFNS awards for excellence in newborn, family, maternity, and child photography - an international image competition judged by the best and most successful newborn and maternity photographers in the industry. Shelly also received her accreditation for Newborn Photography through APNPI (Accredited Professional Newborn Photographers International), where her body of work was judged by a panel of top level newborn photographers according to competition level standards.

Her highly creative approach and attention to detail has led her to build many of her own props, paint her own backdrops, and knit darling outfits, wraps, and blankets for use in her photography.

She has decades of experience working with children both as a credentialed teacher and as a professional photographer. Safety is her first priority when working with newborns and she has taken several classes in the safe handling of babies. Shelly is fully vaccinated for COVID and her studio is both licensed and insured.
